AOD-9604 is a synthetic peptide comprising residues 177–191 of human growth hormone, modified with an N-terminal tyrosine for enhanced stability. In preclinical rodent models, it has demonstrated modulation of adipose tissue and lipid metabolism through indirect mechanisms involving β3-adrenergic receptor pathways, without activating growth hormone or IGF-1-related proliferative effects (Heffernan et al. 2001; Fawcett 2010). Safety assessments in various animal models revealed no significant toxicity or adverse impact on physiological markers (Fawcett 2010).
